Office Of Citizenship Assistance

“Building Pathways to Success for New Alaskans.”

OCA Leadership

Welcome to the Office of Citizenship Assistance — Alaska's dedicated resource hub for immigrant and refugee residents.

Whether you just arrived in Alaska or have been building your life here for years, you've come to the right place. We know the journey isn't always easy; navigating a new system, a new language, and a new workplace takes courage, patience, and the right support.

At OCA, we believe every Alaskan deserves fair access to employment opportunities, clear information about their workplace rights, and a team that genuinely wants to see them succeed.

Our staff are committed to serve you with both expertise and genuine care. From job placement and employment guidance to workplace rights protection, legal referrals, and citizenship support, our team is here to help you not just survive but truly thrive as a New Alaskan.

Mission Statement

The Office of Citizenship Assistance (OCA) is dedicated to empowering Alaska's immigrant residents by providing vital employment resources, job placement services, and guidance on workplace rights and protections. In accordance with AS 23.05.125, OCA works to:

  • Provide Employment Resources: Connecting residents with job placement services and offering support to address issues such as discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, and unsafe working conditions.
  • Support Employment Equity: Advising on improving job opportunities and fostering fair treatment within Alaska's workplaces.
  • Collaborate for Impact: Partnering with state and federal agencies to drive positive change and broaden opportunities for non-citizen residents in Alaska.

Together, we aim to foster fair employment opportunities, prevent discrimination, and support Alaskans in successfully meeting their federal visa requirements.
